Key Idea: The Reformation matters because it recovered the gospel, summed up in the “Five Solas.”

Introduction

1. Sola Scriptura: The gospel is revealed by Scripture alone.

2. Solus Christus: The gospel is centered on Christ alone.

3. Sola Gratia: The gospel is believed and received by grace alone.

4. Sola Fide: The gospel is received by faith alone.

5. Soli Deo Gloria: The gospel results in glory to God alone.
