SERVICE SCHEDULE

"And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching."

SUNDAYS

First Baptist Church meets at 103 S. Indiana Street in Delphi, Indiana. You're welcome to attend anytime! To learn more about our gatherings, plan a visit to First Baptist Church.

9:30am – Sunday School **See map below**

Beginning at 9:30am on Sunday mornings, we have our Sunday School, a time focused on making disciples of Christ by offering classes for children, youth, and adults. Children’s and youth classes meet in classrooms along the ground floor, and nursery aged children through Kindergarten meet on the main floor. Parents should be able to check kids in beginning at 9:15am. Adults are welcome to attend the class in the Fellowship Hall, the auditorium, or serve in the nursery (if childcare approved).

10:30am – Worship Service

At 10:30am we hold our Sunday morning service, where we gather for about an hour and a half to sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, offer prayers of praise, confession, and intercession to God, hear God’s Word read and preached, and observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper (once every other month). We are a family-friendly church and children are more than welcome to stay in for the service, though we provide nursery care for children ages 0–2 as well. Parents should be able to check kids in beginning at 10:15am. Preaching at FBC is generally expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular biblical passage. All preaching is driven by the gospel, the Bible’s main message of God saving sinners through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We sing a hymn encapsulating the theme of the sermon and then receive a benediction (a good word from God’s Word) to end the service with God’s blessing. We often stay around to fellowship with one another after the service for our fellowship meal and sermon Q&A.

11:45am – Fellowship Meal

After the worship service, we move downstairs to enjoy a fellowship meal together. All are welcome (members and guests).

12:45pm – Afternoon Service

*(We meet for a fellowship gathering in lieu of the afternoon service one Sunday every month.)

We come together at 12:45pm for a time of sermon discussion and Q&A to apply the Word more deeply into our lives. Members freely participate in the discussion, some focusing on a translator’s rendering of a verse, others looking more at how that verse affects some aspect of their spiritual life. When our discussion wraps up around 1:00pm, we break into men’s and women’s small groups to share matters for prayer from both our corporate and individual lives, including things like evangelistic efforts, special needs, and birth and wedding announcements. We then lift up our petitions and praises to God. Once we’ve prayed together, the service concludes. Fellowship usually follows as members take time to talk and enjoy each’s other’s company.
