1. The Love of Jesus in John 11:1–6
Three Things:
Jesus chose to let Lazarus die
He was motivated in this by his zeal for God’s glory
This motivation is love
2. A Definition of the Love of God
God’s love is his doing whatever needs to be done, at whatever cost, so that we will see and be satisfied with the glory of God in Jesus Christ.
Three Things:
Love did not take away the thorn
Love had something more important to give
The all-satisfying grace and power of God is more important to give
